Food Security Supervision in Jakarta Intensified

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency Head, Darjamuni revealed that as many as 154 locations of markets, coaching locations (lokbin) and supermarkets are under routine supervision through mobile laboratory car by taking samples five times a year.

"Type of examinations includes the formalin content in fish, chicken and chicken intestine, pesticide residues in vegetables and fruits, putrefaction test (Eber) in beef and the coloring content of processed fish," he expressed, Monday (7/15).

Until mid-this year, it has been carried out on 21,087 samples of food, with details 9,589 samples of agricultural, 2,580 samples of livestock and 8,918 samples of fishery.

"99.66 of them are safe from hazardous materials," he stressed.

During supervision, its action gets assistance by three officers of Polda Metro Jaya coordination and supervision investigators (Konwar) and civil servant investigator (PPNS). 

"If hazardous materials are found, we'll do filing and destruction of food waste," he asserted.

It will be intensified all the time and will be more improved ahead of the National Religious Day (HBKN).

"This action will further enhance public trust. While for the community, its supervision will give a guarantee of the safety of food consumed," he st ated.
